between terminals at dulles international airport is about to get a heck of a lot easier. peggy fox introduces us to the arrow train. >> reporter: the new train system at dulles international airport is finally up and running. >> i remember when there was no subway. >> reporter: not metro rail. that's still in the works. this is arrow train that will whisk passengers from the terminal to their concourse in no time, starting tomorrow. >> they've been planning it 15 years? >> reporter: that's right. the underground tunnel and four- mile train track have taken eight years to build. the train takes passengers to the a, b and c concourses, replacing the mobile lounges which have been around sincedulles opened in 1962. >> 30 years ago it was like a cow farm, and you were going some where far, so it didn't matter. but that would be magnificent. >> reporter: the ride from the terminals here takes under 2 minutes, a big improvement from the people movers which can take up to 15 minutes. >> since mobile lounges are operating on the surface and trying to share the same pavement areas as airpla

offender registry is dead after being tasered by police in arlington. as peggy fox reports, it happened just after 8:00 last night at the pentagon metro station after an officer spotted a shoplifting suspect. >> reporter: right here on the platform at the pentagon city metro station, a struggle took place. an arlington police officer had spotted this man, 36-year-old, william randolph of dc, wanted in a larceny at a nearby pharmacy. >> when the officer approached the suspect, the suspect became combative. >> reporter: the officer called for help. >> while the suspect and the officer were alone, he was still fighting. the officer deployed his taser. it didn't appear to have an affect on the suspect. >> reporter: a second officer arrived and handcuffed the suspect. as standard procedures for tasered deployment, the officers called for medics. >> when medics arrived, they transported the suspect to the the hospital and he was pronounced dead. >> reporter: he was released from prison two years ago after being convicted of the sex offense and other crimes. they recovered items on him believe

in haiti's rubble. peggy fox shows us how search and rescue teams train for that kind of a mission. >> reporter: finding survivors under piles of concrete takes a delicate balance between heavy machinery and careful searching. >> once we get up to it, we can see if, in fact, we do have a victim. >> reporter: dc's search and rescue team practices these drills regularly. this concrete plant provides plenty of slabs to look through and drill under. >> when they're looking for possible victims, they start with a listening device. and with these headphones, they can hear even the tiniest of fingernail scratching. >> reporter: take a listen. they also use rotating cameras fitted on the end of extension poles. >> as i see a victim right there so i would notify the chief i can see a victim, a live victim. and then we would go and extricate that person. >> once they find somebody, then a rescue group comes in behind them to start digging. and that crew moves on to the next building. so they're always leapfrogging each other going from building to building to building. >> reporter: after all
